I was born in 1941 in Kolkata in Bengal, India, into a feudal, priviledged family. This background, by its very nature turned me against itself. So I left it in India to come to the UK. This explains my attitude to life!

After good education in India up to a B.Sc degree, I trained at Leeds University as a Mining/Mineral Science Engineer. I was much loved by the people I worked with in the mining community. I felt very fortunate and had no urge to go back to India.

I then felt encouraged to change my line of work to avoid working in an ever-shrinking industry.

I managed to secure a job as a tax inspector through the civil service commission and learnt a new trade which stood me in good stead later.

Again, after a few years I wanted to make my mark outside the revenue department and much to my wife's consternation resigned to join financial services where I made my business home after one more trip to the revenue department because of self doubt.

Soon I was to create a permanent (I thought) business decision to become an Independent Financial Adviser.

Again by a quirk of fate, having created a modest accountancy/financial services practice I fell ill severely. It was fortunate my wife was a business partner so she took over from me.

As I say, I have been fortunate and loved all my life by all those around me.
